Looking for an all natural, easy to make baking mix that isn’t the typical vanilla? Well look no further! I’m pleased to now offer gourmet baking mixes of some of my popular recipes. To start out I’ve created mix versions of two of cakes, Baklava and Doce de Tomate, as well as my world famous Blackout Brownies. All the mixes can be purchased through my Etsy shop and shipped anywhere in the United States.
Blackout Brownies
Around the World in 80 Cakes’ Blackout Brownies have been a customer favorite since I opened. I am pleased to now offer my secret recipe as a gourmet mix, so you can make these tasty brownies at home.
The mix contains all the dry ingredients you will need to bake the brownies, separated into cello bags and clearly labeled. Just follow the step-by-step instructions, adding the dry ingredients, along with the addition of unsalted butter, eggs and water. The mix will make one 9×13 pan of brownies.
Baklava Cake Mix
Many know Baklava as the traditional Greek dessert made of layered phyllo dough and cinnamon sugar and topped with a honey glaze. After making my own Baklava at home one day I decided to make a cake version of the tasty pastry. The cake is made with olive oil, similar to phyllo dough, then layered with a cinnamon, sugar walnut filling and topped with a honey glaze. The resulting cake is moist, flavorful and delicious. It works as both a dessert or breakfast cake.
The mix contains all the dry ingredients you will need, as well as honey. Just follow the step-by-step instructions, adding supplied ingredients along with extra virgin olive oil, eggs and milk. The mix will make one large bundt cake or about 11-12 mini bundt cakes.
Doce de Tomate
Doce de Tomate is a Portuguese tomato jam made with tomatoes, sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. This bundt cake version of Doce de Tomate is made with all the same ingredients as well as Madeira, a sweet wine made on the island of Madeira off the coast of Portugal. The combination of tomato, lemon and cinnamon is a truly unique, and amazing, flavor combination. It will definitely be unlike any cake you’ve ever had.
The mix contains all the dry ingredients you will need, as well as a small can of plain tomato sauce. Just follow the step-by-step instructions, adding dry ingredients along with extra virgin olive oil, eggs and Madeira (you can also substitute another sweet wine). The mix will make one large bundt cake or about 11-12 mini bundt cakes.
The full recipes for both the Baklava Cake and Doce de Tomate cake can be found in the first installment of the Cakes without Borders eBook series, now available on Kindle. Also coming soon to iBooks, Nook and as a full color PDF available for download through CakesWithoutBorders.com.
