This was a surprise birthday cake, ordered by the recipient’s fiance. The birthday boy is from Senegal and plays the djembe, a type of African drum. The top of the cake is decorated with an edible image of him playing at one of his gigs. The sides of the cake are decorated with fondant Senegal flags and a decorative border in colors to match the flag.
